All items included in the Maintenance Kit are genuine Aqua One original spec. items that were supplied with your canister filter when new.

Of course, all these items are available as individual canister filter spare parts for both Aquis CF-1000 and Aquis CF-1200 external filters, but having all key maintenance service components on hand for immediate problem solving should the worst happen, is a really smart thing to do and gives real peace of mind. It's also a bit cheaper than buying the items individually and saves on shipping costs too.
If you are renewing your filter or setting up a second hand filter for the first time, it's always a good idea to replace impeller, filter taps, main sealing ring and priming cap from the outset, so that you know that they are brand new and will have a long service life. If servicing your filter, changing your impeller once per year will help to maintain the working life of your filter pump.
Once a year service
As part of your regular filter maintenance where you'll change filter media and pads, it's always a good idea to check the that the impeller isn't blocked and is spinning freely. At the same time, check filter taps and hoses for leaks and ensure that the main seal is in good condition too, along with the priming cap and seal.
Both the Aquis CF-1000 and Aquis CF-1200 canister filters should give many years of loyal service if maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
