Aqua One's Bio Balls are supplied with all Aquis, Advance, Nautilus and Ocellaris external canister filters to provide a perfect home for millions of microscopic nitrifying bacteria, so sought after by fishkeepers. By design, Bio Balls break up the flow of water through your canister filter, which naturally removes larger particles of aquarium debris and also ensures that the maximum surface are of the Bio Balls are utilised for bacterial cultivation.

Bio Balls sit in the bottom section of all Aqua One canister filters and can be rinsed in a little aquarium water and reused repeatedly, always discarding the dirty water at the bottom of the canister at the same time. However as with all aquarium filtration, never change all filter elements at once on an established setup as this may remove too much beneficial bacteria and upset the balance of your filter.

Aqua One Filter Media

Aqua One's filter media is well known in the fishkeeping world for it's quality and whether it's Bio Balls or other loose filter media you can be sure that it will get to work for you straight away in your aquarium. As ever, if your setup is already established then make sure to change filter media in stages, maybe a week or so apart so as not to upset the biological balance of your tank.

Bio Balls is just one of the diverse range of loose filter media products used throughout the entire product range. With the exception of Bio Balls, all loose filter media from Aqua One is normally supplied complete with it's own resealable netting bag for convenience, although it's sometimes a good idea to purchase a second net bag to spread the load.
