405w White Wool Pad Twinpack from Aqua One - (25405w)

This is a genuine and original specification replacment 405w White Wool Pad Twinpack manufactured by Aqua One for use with Advance 2250 and Advance 2450 external canister filters and is designed to remove even the tiniest particles of aquarium waste from your filter system, giving your aquarium water that "polished" look.

Replace every 4 weeks

405w Wool Pads are designed to trap and remove even the finest of solid particles from aquarium water. The Polymer Wool Pads for Advance canister filters are designed to attract and bond with aquarium waste, and provide the final polish to aquarium water before it is returned back into your aquarium. The 405w Wool Pad is designed to become clogged with aquarium debris and cannot be rinsed. For perfect aquarium water, the white wool pad should be replaced once a month.

Filter Maintenance

Once a month, (or sooner if you notice reduced waterflow) remove the impeller cover and check that this isn't blocked with aquarium waste and that the impeller can spin freely. Pipework and fitler taps should also be checked at this time to ensure that there are no blockages restricting waterflow. Do check the condition of filter media pads on a regular basis as these will usually become clogged with aquarium waste over time. Rinse both Blue and Black sponges in a little aquarium water and re-use, replacing every 6 months or so. Polymer Wool Pads should be changed as necessary, usually every 4 to 6 weeks.

Changing the 405w Wool Pad

Aqua One's Advance canister filters are reasonably easy to service, so changing the 405w Wool Pad isn't a difficult process. First of all disconnect the power supply, then turn the filter taps off. Unclip the four clamps that hold the head in place and separate the body and head. The 405w Wool Pad is located in the top tray of your Advance Canister Filter. The Polymer Wool Pad should be changed every 4 weeksor sooner if it has become completely clogged with aquarium waste.
